For recipients within the NC Annual Conference, with programs serving United Methodist ethnic constituencies, addressing racial/ethnic community concerns and advancing inclusiveness; new or pilot projects have priority.
You’ll need
Applications are due March 31 and November 30 each year, making November 30, 2026 the next listed deadline. Use the official online application and provide budget, goals, evaluation plan and pastor/project chair/council chair/district superintendent approval contacts.
Our note: Secure the required approvals before submitting; do not assume broad multicultural language alone satisfies the ethnic-ministry and board criteria.
Applications may request up to $5,000 for one year, subject to funds; payment can be lump sum or installments. The form requests cash on hand and all expected funding sources.
Watch for
The supervising board making policy/program decisions must be majority ethnic persons, and the need must originate in the served community. Salaries and benefits are prohibited; repeat applicants must demonstrate growth, impact or sustainability.
Not confirmed: a fixed cash match or application fee.
Important: original snapshot conflict. The snapshot describes broad inclusion programming, but the actual application imposes narrower United Methodist ethnic-constituency, majority-ethnic supervising-board and no-salary requirements. General diversity work alone is not enough.2
Overview reviewed for maximum, recurring deadlines and signature requirement.
Full public application and guidelines reviewed; no form submitted. Includes ethnic-constituency, supervisory-board, geographic and salary restrictions.
